(which i got THE DAY it came out btw)
AAAhhh, new maps. Don't we all love them. First it was Nacht Dur Untotem, then Verrukt, and then those became the used tissues of SHI NO NUMA.
What's probably the most unique about Shi No Numa is a few things:
1. MORE ZOMBIE ACCESS The zombies are no longer coming from an outside world whose only entrance into yours is a slow peeling away through windows. No. It's up close and personal! You run through farm-area-like swamplands--and they're right behind you. That's right-you're outside the building now.
2. MULTIPLE TIMES LARGER Upstairs, Downstairs, Inside, Outside, Fishing Hut, Comm Room, Doctor's Quarters, Storage, and more! Oh, and not to mention the...
3. GADGETS Zipline. Enough said. Oh, did you know the zombies jump off after you? Yeah. Really.
4. CHARACTERS The American, and my personal favorite: Dempsey. The Asian with an accent an obvious english speaking person fakes: Takeo. The blood crazy German: Nikolai. The everything crazy Russian: Richtofer. No more anonymous players, each is one of the four characters.
5. SPIRIT WOLVES!!!!!!!! Both my brother and I screamed the first time we saw these. So unexpected, so loud, these hordes of glowing wolves appear in a crack of lightning around round 5 after a lispy voice yells 'Fetch me their soulsss'. Forget the Zombies for this inbetween round fight. You'd better have opened accross or downstairs by now and gotten a real gun from the mystery box or you'll need a good revive'in.
---vvvvvvv
Alright. So you've got your headset on and feel pretty confident with also headset-equipped Killah666, whom sounds like a nine year old, and DarkNight, with a voice deep enough to crack any second, and SilentTimmy, who you hope will be okay with the rest of you being able to communicate while he lacks the set to. Everyone synchronizes, and boom there you are with your handgun and full power of Dempsey. You sprint to the nearest window and headshot a couple of toddling jungle zombies. Dempsey empowers you with sayings like 'Augh! I think his skull just hit next week!' and 'Damn, that was a good shot', and the like. What a powerful American.
Round four hits and you and DarkNight have decided you'd all better get some guns before the wolfies come a'fetchin. SilentTimmy has the most points so you all gather around and rudely knife him until he opens downstairs and you all beat him to the box.
'Fetch me their soulsss' echoes out you all huddle in the corner behind the mystery box with your machine guns and that one annoying guy who always has a flamethrower. Ya thanks SilentTimmy, now we all can't see what we're shooting.
Killah666 lets out a prepubescant scream at his first wolf. Turns out-surprise- this is his first time playing. Three bites and he's down, waiting for that nice stab in the neck with an oversized reviving needle. But you can't help. You're too busy knifing SilentTimmy's flaming wolves while nicely waiting for him to reload so you can do so too. DarkNight's got it under control and you all gussy up and run off for more zombie heads.
But OH NO you got TEDDY BEAR!! 'Look for the Light' the drawing above the box says. Well you know what that means and rush into the courtyard to spin around until a light shoots up into the sky from the box's new location. 'Fucking Teddy Bear. Oh I know you're laughing at ME.' Dempsey chips in. So American.
DarkNight grates out the new box location and you all once again prod SilentTimmy into opening it. How is it whoever doesn't have the headset gets picked on? Who cares. Cause it's not you. :)
AAAnyway. It's amazing and you need to play it.

Strategies
As I sit here typing and drinking my hot chocolate (which is QUITE delicious by the way) I find myself wondering at why I've being doing so bad lately at cod4. I remember answering someone's question on how to get more game kills in a yahoo answers forum and suddenly doubting my qualifications for helping him. Given, it is a free open forum and several other people gave replies more useless than my own, but I find comfort in that his best scores were 5 kills to 7 deaths and mine are 48 to 8. I'd assume I'm a more experienced player but you never know. He might not even play it and instead is a liver-spotted old man in his sixties with a lust for little boys who play Call of Duty 4. The question will remain unanswered I guess.
If you were curious, his question envoked answers about what strategy the readers use to get kills. I shared my own, which I now realize might each be odd.
-Sitting up straight, heels propped up on the chair I sit in, controller on a pillow and pointing toward the line where the ceiling and wall meet, hands lightly on the buttons, barely holding it.
-Two or so warm up games where I slowly speed up my reaction time.
-Adrenaline and shouting at the screen.
-Switching to see-shoot mode rather than see-run closer-attempt to knife-die on accident mode.
-Enjoy satisfaction of hearing the people with headsets talking about how Cheerleader_Mel_ got first and how she's probably a boy.
What are your strategies for getting kills? I find hiding/camping to be horribly inaffective and sniping to just be obnoxious, but to each their own. Anyone have methods similar to mine? I wonder.
And feel sad that I finished my hot chocolate.

"Nach Der Untotem"
Nach Der Untotem-"After the Zombies"
?? So much for online translations.
Untotem is the more involved of the two levels. It feels so much more realistic. In Verukt you can detach from the game and just feel like you're going through a routine, running around and checking each window. Over and over and over again.
But in Untotem it's all one room. And everything just seems more real and panicked. The four of you just running around trying not to bump eachother and hoping the guy over there is sufficiently covering the window and oh yeah dont forget the one next to the bars.
Why can't they get through the bars, anyway? Note to self: stacked sacks and widely spaced floor-to-ceiling poles are impassable to zombies. All the better though. Wooden boards that hurl themselves to the windows from midair can slow them. But god forbid there's two zombies, or them boards be goin' down.
But I'm not going to argue the realism in video games. I hate the people who do that. You're trying to get a headshot while kIlLaH666 blabs on and on over his headset about how shotguns take longer to reload and the range of this gun is actually shorter and they forgot to animate the grips on the handle and blaaahhh you have to tune him out. Or mute him when you have a second.
Which you have more of in Untotem. Things go a little slower for a little longer in that map. But when they speed up, you could still probably handle it if you weren't scared out of your mind because of the realism.
I'd still choose Verukt though. Something about being separated from the other half of the team and being able to watch the zombies literally burst from underground gets my blood pumping.

Nazi Zombies "Zombie Verukt"
I got absolutely nothing done today. Why?
I just discovered that there were two maps for Nazi Zombies.
And holy handgun, Verukt is fun.
I'm sure we've all played it. Four players, separated in pairs by a automatic doorway-too bad the power's out ;). You've barely taken your first breath and rush to buy a real gun off the wall to replace the default handgun-and hear a loud 'honk'--the other pair's unlocked their side of the stairs. Soon they'll 'honk' through a series of doorways until the final electric room and PRESTO, you're reunited.
Unless of course it's your side doing the honking. But either way, by the time you've turned the power on and are all four together taking turns on the mystery box, one of two things will probably happen pretty darn soon.
1. You get a freakish bloody teddy bear that floats out of the box. Good job, mister unlucky. You've broken the mystery box. Cue zombie laughs echoing off the walls.
or
2. Just as you wonder how the heck you survived so many rounds-and finally get a machine gun (or better-laser!) - your screen flashes red and you turn around to find a zombie palooza you somehow missed. And-when did all the other team members suddenly need reviving? Goodbye.
But the thrill of Zombie Verukt is definitely there and no matter how far you get it's ridiculous fun. I played it all day.
Isn't it DARN addicting?

Call of Duty 6 Modern Warfare 2 'Teaser" (TRAILER)
http://modernwarfare2.infinityward.com/
above is the link to the only teaser trailer I have been able to find.
Wow the second cod5 comes out BOOM there's a six. I bet we've all gone on youtube and gotten rick rolled atleast three times trying to find the trailer. But there isn't one on youtube yet.
I'd read (on wikipedia) that there was a teaser, and I used their citations to hunt around and find it! The way they describe it, and I quote, "The trailer starts with the Infinity Ward logo, with background noise on a green waveform turning into a series of human shaped silhouettes, then an elevator door. The perspective changes to inside the elevator, still in green sound outlines. The elevator descends, opening up to what appears to be an airport security line. Then a hail of gunfire, a flash of green tinted action shots and ultimately the Modern Warfare 2 logo."
The way I describe it is: One of those green line thingies that move when you hear sound, paired with some flashing images of being in an elevator, which changes to war images when it opens. I interperate it as an after-war person trying to be normal and go down the elevator at work, but the whispers of the others in the elevator and the dings of the floors they pass sets him into a little flashback as the doors open.
Pretty disappointing teaser if you're hoping for a normal one with actual gameplay footage and extreme music. This one just makes you feel like you're blind.
Well there you have it!

Cod5 NAZI ZOMBIES
I don't know about anyone else but I was so glad when my bro brought home Cod5, because I was getting seriously tired of Cod4's maps. They were all so GRAY. Plus everyone knew all the good hiding spots and the map glitch areas and the best places to snipe blah blah blah like playing hide and go seek in one house for too long. There's only so much you can do. My bro likes Cod4 more and I literally have no idea why. Cod5 is SO much more fun, but maybe just because I haven't exhausted all the online spontaneity. I haven't even tried its single player story play yet [whatever it's called]. But I have played Nazi Zombies on bro's account. I'm completely addicted.
Who else loves the Nazi Zombie FIRST LEVEL. Before the help room or the stairs or ANYTHING ELSE gets opened. The most realistic, couple o' humans stuck in a room with too many gosh darn windows, slowly fighting off zombies level.
Once you go upstairs it just gets boring and unrealistic when the zombies are seriously the speed of a lightning bolt: you no longer get to enjoy their signature drag-shuffle, and can only stay alive with heavy machine guns and two players backed into the strategy corner who have to time their reloads off eachother. But it's definitely a fun level to watch if you're not playing so the stress doesn't affect you.
